3D Mixed Media.
Land Art.
Earth art is an art movement in which landscape and the work of art are inextricably linked. Land art is made directly in the landscape, structures using natural materials found in the landscape such as rocks or twigs. Land art was part of the wider conceptual art movement in the 1960s and 1970s. However, the art form has existed for thousands of years. The movement sought to take art out of museums and set it within a natural context. Many works of Land Art are temporary or left to change with the elements of nature. In a general sense, it is art that helps improve our relationship with the natural world.

Spider web with dandelion seeds I placed upon it . this has a dreamlike fairytale feel. Tone, contrast, movement.
From the beginning of time, human beings have expressed themselves with art, By the twenty-first century all of these different techniques had been discovered and studied. This allows modern artists the ability to choose the medium that is right for them. However, for many artists choosing one medium was restricting. Mixed media art is defined as any work of art that uses more than one medium.
Mixed Media Art was developed in the twentieth century as post-modern artists began to bend the rules of traditional arts. However, mixed media can be found throughout time as long as one considers any artwork using more than one type of material (or medium).
Many people may also know mixed media art as assemblage art, there are very few rules regarding what is and is not acceptable as mixed media art.
3D Mixed Media, assemblages, painting, sculpture, leaves, mixed media, paper, sculpture, sticks etc.
3D Art Gallery.
Making this art gallery I found that you must secure your walls and doorways before you start painting the cardboard or else it becomes saturated and tears when cut. PVA worked best to fix the walls, then I used masking tape to hide the joins. This was a lot if fun, if a bit awkward to work on when trying to add pictures.

Deconstruction Reconstruction.
Deconstruction + Reconstruction challenging structure, conventions, and the idea of a totality. The works examine the decomposition of social conventions, domestic structures and art materials in physical and conceptual ways, and explore the act of dismantling as a path to reveal or expose new meanings through comparisons.
Metal is very flexible as a molding material, it is moldable yet has structure and strength. Wearing gloves was a must; the wire is sharp. also safety glasses were required with cutting the circuit board as pieces shattered. Using computer parts and wire was a lot of fun, and with a hot glue gun It helped with the strength and speed of drying. I would love to spend some more time on this and in the future I intend to. Using circuit boards to make this piece was interesting, however care was needed in cutting and stripping the wires and also with the hot glue gun. The circuit board bonded well with the glue from the hot glue gun however the metal components didn't bond as well and required additional support with wire was needed.
I learned how to create a three-dimensional assemblage piece which requires going beyond the traditional approach.
A few things I learned were the importance of selection of appropriate and stable substrates and the correct selection of fasteners such wire and glues . I also became more aware of the shadows and reflections created by three-dimensional objects, and how these affect the piece overall.
I am interested in pushing my work beyond society's current thinking about art.

Micha Trpàk
Born 1982 in Ceske Budejovice, Czech republic, where is now living and working. Escape into Reality is made of cement, wood, and acrylic paint. Escape into reality is a combination of a painting, a relief and a sculpture, it outlines a transition between the real and virtual world, between 2d and 3d form. To me, art is simply creativity, and in this broad sense, art is in all of us. I believe we all have the capacity to make art. As Greek philosopher Aristophanes said in the 4th century B.C., “Let each man exercise the art he knows…". Jin Powell Worked at 2Js Studio llc Studied at CAFE Central Academy of Fine Art Lives in Memphis, Tennessee From Tianjin, China Jin Powell creates beautifully emotional figures. Casting and fabrication, Each of this artist’s sculptures is unique and represents an emotion. Capturing movement and grace. I find the artist and their creations fascinating. The color helps to enhance the feeling. Warm colors, the statue seems to be celebration . The shadows that are created add a subtle complexity to the art . Thought provoking and beautiful! This piece inspired my spider made from broken computer parts I also tried to create the interesting shadows of Jin's work. DARLENE PRATER .. PRAISE Lives in McMinnville, Tennessee From McMinnville, Tennessee Commissioned artist for murals in businesses, churches, and homes in Arizona, and Texas. Made using natural ‘found objects’ with yarn, handmade paper which she has skillfully put together to create a unique inspiring piece. materials : used coffee filters, twigs, rust, cardboard, styrofoam, yarn, and paint. Found objects seem to speak for themselves. I get great satisfaction from taking something that is mangled and forgotten, and giving it a new life. |
